Enrolment Fees and Funding

Before we get to enrolment we want to make sure you have the information you need about your first choice course fees.

It is important to read and understand what you may need to pay so you can plan and look into any funding or payment options available to you in advance of your enrolment.

Keeping you up to date

The College will send each applicant email communications about fees and funding specific to their course choice and circumstances.

The course fees stated in our communications are subject to our Admissions and Tuition Fee Policy. The College endeavours to ensure the accuracy of published course fee information and reserves the right to make post-publication changes should circumstances occur, including changes to government funding policy, where it is necessary to vary the terms or content of a course's fees and funding.

What makes up your course fees

Our course fees are broken down into four sections and are payable depending on age, previous qualifications and household circumstances.

• Tuition Fee: Tuition fees are the bulk of any course fee and are specific to the cost of providing you an exceptional learning environment and experience. Please note this will not be applicable if you are aged 16-18, aged 19-23 learners studying their first Level 2 or Level 3 or on benefits or low income.
• Exam/Registration fee: Exam/Registration fees are specific to the cost of registering you with awarding bodies that enter you for exams. Please note this will not be applicable if you have not had to pay tuition fees.
• Material Fees: Material Fees are related to specific materials/resources/products used on the course that are independently purchased by Gloucestershire College. Please note these fees are payable by all students but you may be eligible for assistance from Gloucestershire College's Student Support Funds.
• Event Fees: Event fees are related to trips to industry-specific settings.
• Disclosure and Barring Service/Kit/Uniform Fees: Kit and uniform fees are applicable to specific course areas. Further information about courses that have specific kit or uniform requirements will be communicated to applicants in due course.

When to pay

You will only be able to pay course fees once we have confirmed you have been enrolled. We will let you know if you have been enrolled successfully between the 30th August – 5th September 2022.

You will need to make sure that you have paid or made the College aware of any funding arrangement for the full amount of your course fees by the 30th September 2022.

How to pay course fees

Full Payment: 

We can take payments by debit or credit card or in cash. Full details at the bottom of the statement sent when you enrol. 

Direct Debit Agreements: 

There is also an option to help you spread the cost of your course into manageable and equal parts by setting up a Direct Debit. You need to be 18 or over to set up a Direct Debit so younger students would need to set it up in their parent's or guardian’s name. The Direct Debit plan must be paid in full by the end of your course.

Each instalment would be taken on either the 5th or 20th of the month and you’ll be asked for a 20% deposit when you enrol and this can be paid in cash, or by debit or credit card

Please keep in mind, the minimum outstanding fee for a direct debit to be set up is £100 for a full-year course both for a full-time or part-time course. If students would like to set up a direct debit for less than £100 or a shorter course, this would need to be approved by our finance team. 

Government-funded Loans:

Applications can be made for Government-funded loan initiatives such as the Advanced Learner Loan and Student Finance England. Further information about loan options will be sent shortly.

Student Funds:

Applications can be made to Student Support Fund for assistance - more details can be found below!

Employer or Sponsor Invoice:

If you are being supported by a sponsor or employer you will be liable for the fees until the Finance Department receives a signed form confirming the sponsorship arrangement. Upon receipt of this form your course fees become the permanent responsibility of your sponsor.

• You are 16+ years old
• Receiving income-based benefits, or being supported by someone who has these. Evidence would need to be provided and dated within the last three months
• On a low income (this will be assessed by a Student Support Adviser)
