We caught up with Shannon Keating, Assistant HR Advisor at CCP, who started her career as a Level 2 Business Administration Apprentice with the charity in 2014. After progressing onto Gloucestershire College’s Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, Shannon then went on to complete her Level 3 Human Resources Support Apprenticeship programme and is aspiring to start her Level 5 programme in the future. HPR Services LTD has grown and developed since they started trading five years ago. The widely anticipated project to create Gloucestershire College’s new £3m Institute of Technology facilities at its Cheltenham campus has commenced.

The redevelopment will see the creation of a brand new cyber and IT area, with specialist computing labs, state of the art attack and defence rooms, forensic tool kits, eco study pods, a dedicated entrance and an open study and networking area. The engineering teaching and learning area is also being extensively refurbished with dedicated spaces for those studying higher level engineering in Cheltenham.

Gloucestershire College is delighted to announce that there are 85 vacancies available to motivated young people across Gloucestershire, through the government’s Kickstart Scheme. The new incentive, launched in October, was created to support 16 to 24-year-olds in receipt of Universal Credit, to reduce the risk of them becoming long-term unemployed. It offers a six-month paid job with a local employer, funded by the government.

Any business who hires / has hired a new apprentice between 1 August 2020 and 31 March 2021 is currently eligible to receive the following incentive payments from the government of £2,000 for every new apprentice aged 16-24 and £1500 for every new apprentice aged 25 and over. This is addition to a further £1,000 if the apprentice is aged 16 to 18-years-old. Find out how to apply for these incentives, via the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS).
