Skills Bootcamps

FREE to those aged 19 and over who are in work, self-employed, unemployed for less than 12 months or returning to work after a break.

Flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, offering intensive training in the cyber and digital skills our county needs, with a fast track, guaranteed interview with a local employer. 

Skills Bootcamps are delivered online via OpenClassrooms and include weekly mentorship sessions with an industry expert and career coaching webinars. There are no tests or exams; the courses are project-driven and experiential to ensure you are work-ready.

FREE online short courses

Get a new qualification in 15 weeks or less.  

To study these courses you will need the following:

  • An Internet enabled PC running Microsoft Windows.
  • A Web browser (JavaScript and Cookie enabled).
  • Microsoft Word or a similar word processing software program. 
  • Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player (version 9.0 or higher).
  • An active email account.

Pre-Employment / JobSmart

Whether you're unemployed, looking to change career, or have recently been made redundant, we have a wide range of courses that can give you the skills and confidence to get the job you want.

Our courses can be taught online and on campus by industry experts, with personalised support available every step of the way.

Our successful JobSmart Programme is ideal for unemployed people looking to re-enter the workplace, and includes Confidence for Work, Computer Confidence, Digital Skills for Job Seekers, Interview Skills and more.

Pursue a new hobby today. 

Whether you want to create insta-worthy floral arrangements, make your own clothes, learn a language or pen your first novel, there’s a course at GC to help you reach that goal.

 

Kickstart 

There are almost 200 paid Kickstart work placements available in Gloucestershire's best businesses NOW.

The Kickstart Scheme was created to support 16 to 24-year-olds in receipt of Universal Credit into work. 

It offers a six-month paid work placement with an exciting local employer, funded by the government.

 

Lifetime Skills Guaranteed

If you're 19 or over and don't have a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to A Levels), you can study one of our courses for FREE to gain in-demand skills and change the course of your future.

We're helping Gloucestershire get back on its feet by offering a wide range of courses to adults for FREE, as part of the government-backed Lifetime Skills Guarantee scheme.
