Bursary

This year, all students (current or previous) that are progressing from a qualification achieved at Gloucestershire College to a full-time, Level 4 HE course at the College are offered a bursary of £1000 in their first year of HE study at the college.

This includes progression onto all HNCs and foundation degrees. For some subject areas the bursary is used to purchase equipment/materials for use throughout the course therefore in some cases you will not receive the money directly.

All Level 4 students that progress to their second year of full-time study at Level 5 with the college will receive a bursary of £500.

GC has an HE Hardship Fund available on a case-by-case basis too.

Support with costs

The Student Loan Company offers loans and grants to cover the cost of tuition fees and living costs.

Advanced Learner Loan

Available to those aged 19 and over studying at Level 3 to 6, this loan works in a similar way as a university one; there’s no credit check, your household income isn’t taken into account and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning at least £25,000 per year.

Plus, if you use the loan to study an Access to HE course, then go on to complete a HE qualification, your Advanced Learner Loan is written off.
