What is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ)?
HTQs are new or existing level 4 and 5 technical qualifications approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. They encompass higher national certificates (HNCs), higher national diplomas (HNDs) or foundation degrees that have been approved against occupational standards, decided by employers.
HTQ qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies in collaboration with employers and businesses so that you get the specific training, knowledge and skills required for your chosen career.
There are many different types of HTQ, and that number is steadily growing! They’re a great alternative to apprenticeships or degrees, and are perfect if you’re looking for a more practical, career-led study programme.
