Gloucestershire College Launches New Flexible Apprenticeship Start Dates For Engineering and Construction

An exciting new development offering flexibility and reassurance to businesses in these challenging times, Gloucestershire College is offering a full apprenticeship start programme in January 2021 for the first time.

Traditionally for some apprenticeship areas such as engineering and construction, Gloucestershire College have only allowed new starters to join in September. The College will now have two entry dates for the next academic year, allowing apprentices to start in both September 2020 and January 2021.

Throughout lockdown, Gloucestershire College has been supporting apprentices and employers to continue with their programmes by delivering online learning and remote assessments, ensuring progression is in no way halted.

By developing a whole programme of January 2021 start dates, Gloucestershire College is providing local businesses with flexible solutions to suit their individual needs.

September 2020 & January 2021 Apprenticeship Starts

Flexible start dates are being brought in across the College’s whole portfolio of apprenticeships, with some of the construction and engineering apprenticeship options available to start in both September 2020 and January 2021 listed below:

• Carpentry and Joinery
• Bricklayer
• Building Services Engineer Craftsperson or Installer
• Property Maintenance
• Surveying Technician
• Installation or Maintenance Electrician
• Engineering Operative
• Engineering Technician Machinist or Technical Support
• Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician
• Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician

Apprenticeships Start Dates Throughout The Year

In addition to adding new January start dates, many of Gloucestershire College’s programmes are delivered continuously, meaning they can be started at any point throughout the year. The College welcomes prospective apprentices and employers to get in touch at any time to explore the wide range of apprenticeship options available to begin almost immediately.
