GC named finalist in Apprenticeship Awards

Gloucestershire College is delighted to receive recognition for its excellent apprenticeship provision, once again, after being shortlisted as Training Provider of the Year in the 2020 Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Awards.
Judges were looking for training providers who demonstrate a real commitment to the development of individual apprentices, relationships with business and the promotion of work undertaken, and we are proud to lead in all three areas.

Since launching a new suite of six digital apprenticeships in 2017, we have become first choice for employers for staff training and development in this sector, alongside being a driving force for apprenticeships and workforce development for over a decade.
Director of Employer Training, Julie Tegg, said: “We are delighted to be named a finalist in this year’s apprenticeship awards, particularly in light of our recent success with our digital apprenticeships and employer engagement, the latter of which has also received recognition in the national TES FE Awards.
“Thanks to our industry-expert trainers, bespoke programmes accredited by the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and new training suites created with employer input, we provide businesses with cutting-edge digital training solutions that are flexible and responsive to skills gaps.
“As always, the success of our apprenticeship programmes lies largely with our dedicated teams at the GC Business Hub, so I would like to thank them all once again for their hard work and look forward to celebrating with them on awards night!”
Year on year, GC’s digital apprenticeship programme has seen incredible growth and success, with exciting plans including £3m Institute of Technology investment into facilities and the launch of a degree-level apprenticeship with UWE in September.
The college took the title of Training Provider of the Year in the 2018 Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Awards, and the following year, won the national Association of Colleges (AoC) Beacon Award for the Promotion and Delivery of Successful Apprenticeships.
As the leading provider of apprenticeships in the county, we work with over 800 employers to upskill and develop their workforces, in particular future-proofing talent pipelines and filling skills gaps by ensuring apprenticeships are relevant, responsive and enable apprentices to make a significant contribution to the success of their business; while supporting the apprentices every step of the way.
Find out more about our award-winning apprenticeships at our upcoming Apprenticeship Open Evening: Wednesday 18 March, 5.00pm-8.00pm.
