Meet the GC Experts: Luan Wise
Continual Professional Development (CPD) is important to ensure that you continue to be competent in your profession. An ongoing process, CPD continues throughout a professional’s career and the ultimate outcome is that it safeguards the public, the employer, the professional and the professional’s career.
At Gloucestershire College, we are pleased to support #GlosBiz with CPD by offering short professional training courses to enhance employees’ skills. We offer a wide range of courses suitable for a number of industry sectors for professionals at all levels.
Our courses are delivered by our expert professional tutors; Luan Wise has been delivering marketing and social media courses for us since January 2018.
Luan is a chartered marketer with more than 20 years’ experience in agency, client-side and consultancy roles. She has worked across a variety of sectors including office supplies, postal services, manufacturing, recruitment, higher education and professional services – for household names such as Royal Mail, Hilton and University of Cambridge to the kinds of companies that are big in their field but unknown to the wider world.
You’re in safe hands when learning with Luan. Alongside running her consultancy business, Luan is a course instructor for LinkedIn’s online learning platform, as well as an accredited trainer for Facebook and Instagram, and a coach for Google’s Digital Garage initiative. She is author of the award-winning book Relax! It’s Only Social Media and creator of the Social Media Planner which is listed by The Independent as one of the ‘9 best books for entrepreneurs’.
Luan regularly speaks at colleges and universities, as well as events led by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Direct Marketing Association (DMA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed (IPSE), Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and Enterprise Nation. Luan is a staff writer for Social Media Week Conferences (globally) and content lead for social media subject matter on the Marketing Donut website.
