“I applied for Interactive Game Design at GC because it seemed like the best choice for me. When I visited an open evening I got a taster of what the course was like and got to talk to the lecturers, and even a few of the students, and they all said the course is really enjoyable and really helps you get your foot in the door to a carrier of game development.
I really enjoy playing games like most people, but I also have a passion for tinkering with things and finding out their inner workings, so putting the two together I found that I really want to be a Computer Game Programmer.
GC is so different to secondary school; the lecturers are much friendlier and relaxed, and you feel so much freer and in charge of your own education.
My dream career is working for a game company such as DICE or Splash Damage programming all the mechanics for the game, such as player movement and jumping. GC has helped prepare me for this by showing me my next steps, such as university, and what grades I need to get into my desired course. After I finish at GC I will be heading off to Staffordshire University to study Computer Games Programming, which will help further my knowledge of programming videogames and hopefully land me a job in the game development industry.”
