I knew that I wanted to be in construction but I didn't know what course or what trade to study. I went onto the website for GC construction, I found the courses and I applied for this one.

I got a bricklaying apprenticeship and when I found out I got the apprenticeship I was pretty ecstatic because it was what I've wanted to do for ages. I think I'll be set for life with bricklaying because there's always money in it.

When I first started my course I didn't know anyone else but now I know the whole class and now we all have a laugh, it's all fun. When I came to college it really helped me because it allowed me to grow up properly in college. You've got to do it yourself like they won't chase after you like school if you really want to do it, you've got to do it.
