GE train apprentices because they, along with graduates and interns, are a key part of our Early Talent Pipeline to ensure a highly-skilled workforce for our future growth.
We recruit highly-motivated individuals and provide them with specific training and development to meet our existing, and future, skills needs. There are a large number of current and graduated engineering apprentices at GE in Cheltenham.
They help to fill our engineering shortage gap that’s been created due to a combination of very experienced engineers retiring and to GE winning new business resulting in larger programmes requiring more engineers. As well as developing their technical knowledge, we also need our apprentices to develop professionally.
We are looking to create well-rounded engineers who also have excellent skills in the areas of confidence, communication, time-management, organisation, planning, project management, team-work, finance, leading people – the list is endless!”
