You will be working towards your Commis Chef apprenticeship standard by working alongside a highly skilled team of chefs assisting in a range of duties.

Duties include:

  • Food preparation including basic knife skills
  • Input in menu choices- being creative and getting involved in the business aspects- costings etc
  • Working alongside trained chefs to gain cooking skills and knowledge
  • Making sure the kitchen is clean, tidy and free of hazards
  • Plating up meals in a presentable and creative manner in line with menu specifications
  • Getting food out to customers in a timely manner
  • Using fresh locally sourced ingredients

This is a great opportunity to work with an established company with excellent training and support with good progression routes all the way up to head chef for the right candidate.

GCSE or equivalent A* – D or 9-3 in maths and English.

Future prospects

  • Position available to work in the kitchen. Permanent Contract

Things to consider

  • When you work in hospitality you will be working the hours when everyone, else is enjoying themselves i.e evenings and weekends. Bank holidays and special events including valentines and Christmas you can expect to be working. On the positive note you will be able to book appointments on your days off in the week when services and shops are less busy
  • Your lunch break will be after lunch/dinner service
  • You will be active for the duration of the day
  • Holiday entitlement: 20 days plus bank holidays
