Role of the Governors
Our Board of Governors is responsible for the direction of the College.
Strategy
Governors constructively challenge and lead the development of strategy.
Performance
They scrutinise the performance of management with agreed goals and objectives and monitor the reporting of performance with particular focus on quality and finance.
Risk
Governors should satisfy themselves that all performance information is accurate and that financial controls and systems of risk management are robust and defensible.
Resources
Ensure the College is financially solvent and makes good use of its resources.
People
Governors are responsible for determining appropriate levels of remuneration for senior post-holders (i.e. the Executive Team) and the Clerk, and have a prime role in appointing, and where necessary removing, senior post-holders and the Clerk, and in succession planning.
